A very warm welcome to the Millennium Charity Support website
Making Changes | Making a Difference
Any damaged, donated or clearance stocks can be collected and shipped (f.o.c) out to our charity projects where they will save and improve lives.
The Millennium Charity was started in 2002 as a direct result of excess book stock being produced in the 1990’s causing a massive problem with overstock getting back on to the market that should have been landfilled.
Our Mr Colin Carter – Harrold set up a Waste recycling group that stopped black market stock being resold. The fibre is now recycled to produce other secondary products .
After a number of years a group of publishers cleared Mr Carter – Harrold and The Millennium Charity, to direct some badly needed university books to restock the university library in the Gambia. The presentation was made in 2006 to the minister of education with the support of the Gambian president. This started a fantastic aid plan to help stock many poor and deprived schools in the Gambia, Senegal, and across Africa into Kenya and Uganda. This was part of Book Aid that helped the education of the poorer nations. The Millennium Charity Support still continues its work with schools and education groups in Africa and now has started projects in the middle east. We support a number of African charities who can direct our aid to the local areas they work closely in.
Mission Statement
To encourage and work with our business partners by using a little of our time, effort, and resource that will enhance other peoples lives that are currently less fortunate than ourselves.
To encourage and work with our business partners by using a little of our time, effort, and resource that will enhance other peoples lives that are currently less fortunate than ourselves.
We have successfully donated and distributed over 6 containers full of product in the first quarter of 2018 and hope to sustain this growth over the next few years as other companies join in with donations. We continue to keep our partners updated with how their stocks are being used, by who and where they have been sent. Picture boards are regularly produced giving a direct link from beginning to end use or location.
Donation to Scotty’s Little Soldiers
We are pleased to now be working with our local charity partners Scotty’s little soldiers who support children who have lost parents in conflicts fighting for our country. We have supplied products to raise money in their shops and country fairs as well as given children’s books and educational books and stationary direct to the families. We hope to run a collection scheme with Scotty’s collecting books and stationary media that can be put to better use by the publishers than being destroyed after its shelf life. This presentation was our latest delivery of kids toys, books, water bottles and clothing. Please help us with this latest project.
Donation to West Norfolk Mind Allotment
We are pleased to supply garden tools and horticulture products to help the mind allotments in Norfolk , Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The presentation of product were made at the Kings Lynn Allotment with proceeds from the craft products presented also going to finance the schemes in the coming years.
“Hi Colin
It was fantastic to meet you and Dan today. Both the quality and quantity of your donation is somewhat overwhelming and I can’t thank you enough. It will enable people to feel more confident to progress with their projects and certainly keep us in very upmarket tombola prizes for quite some time.
I have attached our current logo as discussed and will update you with the new one as from 1st July. I will periodically forward you photos as and when the donated items are being used.
The good work you do with your charity is fabulous and thank you so much for including us in this – it’s going to make a huge difference going forward.
Very best wishes
Zena”

Supporting our projects at home and Abroad

Our work at Mwakirunge dumpsite Mombasa, Kenya
Helping Gap Kenya, UK support is now making a difference
A working rubbish dump, a place you’d normally tour to see methane recovery projects or inspect landfill weighing stations. But this isn’t a regular landfill it’s also one of Kenya’s most deprived communities. Adults and children alike live and work on the dump site in appalling conditions, but this is their home. With Gaps supported center they are now making a difference.
The Children of Mwakirunge
It’s as incredible to see how full of joy these children are as it is heartbreaking to see the conditions in which they live. We have the good fortune of spending time at both the Joseph and Stepping Stones Centers, Mombassa, Kenya. These centers are safe places where these children and single mothers can get an education, learn to read, write and build their self-esteem. Both centers are key in being able to equip their students to improve their lives and be inspirational members of society.
Our Celebration Feast for all
On Our recent trip we celebrated the completion and growing success of The Joseph Center with all that currently live on the dump site.
We wish we could do this every day but by giving education, practical skills and support at the center each woman and child can finally better support themselves and each other. Gap will give them the ability to improve their lives and give them the self confidence to move from the dump with skills that will support their families for years to come.
